CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
As part of its initiatives under “Corporate Social Responsibility’, your Company has undertaken several projects in the areas of promoting health care, Nutrition, rural development, Women empowerment, Skill Development and education aimed for the benefit of needy and for general good of the society. These projects are in accordance with Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013 and the Company’s CSR Policy.
The key activities in brief, are as under:
Supply of drinking water to nearby villages:
RCF has been providing drinking water for last 25 years to seven villages around Thal unit through pipelines laid down from the water reservoir in the unit. The villages of Thal, Navgaon, Vaishet, Tudal, Boris-Gunjis, Bhal, which are under RCF, Thal factory, are being supplied with drinking water by RCF. Nearly 20,000 families are getting the benefit of this scheme. The bill for this water supplied by MIDC is paid by RCF
Mobile Medical Van:
RCF has engaged Wockhardt Foundation and administered free primary health care through Mobile Medical Vans. A total of 3 Mobile Medical Vans are running in slums of Trombay and villages around Thal Unit and patients benefit from free medical services including supply of medicines. One medical van attends to approx. 25000 patients per annum.
Mid-Day Meal to School students:
RCF is funding Mid-Day Meal Scheme for providing nutritious food to children studying in twenty nine unaided schools, providing education to poor children, in and around Trombay area. The scheme is operated through an NGO, ‘Annamrit Foundation’ which supplies good and healthy meal to the children on behalf of RCF. In all 2800 students are availing the benefit of this nutritious mid-day meal.
SC ST Scholarship Scheme-Marathwada:
To improve the quality of education among SC/ST students and to encourage and sustain the retention of girl students of SC/ST for their educational attainment, RCF has started the scheme that to provide scholarship to five drought prone districts i.e. Osmanabad, Ahmednagar, Beed, Buldhana and Aurangabad.
Osmanabad District is Aspirational District has been included among all five districts for this activity.
SC ST Scholarship Scheme- Thal :
Under this scheme provides SC/ST students from economically backward families are selected from area nearby Thal Unit.
Supply of Paddy, Fruit Sapling and Free Fertilizers:
Supply of paddy, fruits sapling and free fertilizers have been made to nearby villagers in Thal area of Alibaug, dist. Raigad.
Swachh Bharat Mission:
RCF donated the CSR fund to Swachh Bharat Mission a government of India account for betterment of the society.
Maintaining the common Infrastructure:
RCF has repaired local Roads from Thal Navagaon Road, Boris Gunjis and local Road from Chondhi naka to Kihim bus stand road under the rural development for good transportation of villagers.
Medical equipment to Primary Health care center:
RCF has provided medical equipment to 9 sub centers of Primary Healthcare center Dhokawade, Taluka Alibag, District Raigad which provides free medical services to locals.
Dustbins to slum area:
RCF has procured and provided big dust bins to slum area and residential societies under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Ambulance to needy:
RCF has provided financial assistance for procurement of ambulance for providing free services in Mumbai area.
Lifesaving Medical aid to patients:
RCF has provided financial support to an NGO for providing major life saving aid to 50 patients who visited government hospitals.
Community Fitness Centres:
Total 18 community fitness centres has been installed in across Bidar district, Karnataka under these activities.
Vocational/Skill Training cum livelihood project for the disabled:
RCF has supported to The National Association of Disabled’s Enterprises (NADE), Mumbai for purchasing the umbrella making machine for their centre.
New Hospital Building:
RCF has extended financial Assistance as title sponsorship to new one of the Multi-speciality Hospital building which is under construction at Alibag, district Raigad.
Medical Camp for Women:
Financial Assistance for conducting community based mass screen programme for ovarian cancer and relationship of risk factors of vitamin D including free distribution of sanitary napkins to underprivileged society of Delhi NCR or other area.
Medical Camps:
RCF has arranged various health camp in the surrounding area of Chembur, Mumbai with the help of local NGOs where free health check-up, Eye and dental check-up and distribution of free medicines are being provided.
Medical Equipment for Shatabdi Hospital, Govandi, Mumbai:
RCF has procured medical equipment for the Pandit Modan Mohan Malviya Shatabdi hospital, Govandi, Mumbai.
Construction of Toilet block in the schools and villages:
RCF has provided financial assistance for purchase of modular toilet blocks for Fisherman Societies, local schools nearby RCF Thal unit under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Gym Equipment for senior citizens:
RCF has provided financial support for purchase of Gym Equipment for gymnasium for senior citizens.
Women Empowerment:
1) RCF has provided financial assistance to ‘WINGS’ for the activity ‘Women’s Income Generation through Sanitary Pads manufacturing units’ at Jharkhand and Tamilnadu districts. This project aims to increase affordability and access to sanitary pads to girls and women, together with providing income generation opportunities to women and reduce unhygienic menstrual practices and disease burden.
2) ‘Strengthening Self Help Groups and uplifting women and girls through entrepreneurship for social impact’ Under this project the organisation implementing three such project at Prayagraj, Varanasi and Sultanpur districts with the help of self-help groups of the surrounding of respected area. This project will focus on empowering around 200 women and girls from three districts living in backward areas using skill building and entrepreneurship development at the basis of the work.
3)RCF has provided financial assistance to Asmita Mahila Mandal to distribute mini flour mills and sewing machines to underprivileged women in slums in Chembur, Mumbai.
