Precursor Campaign on Preventive Vigilance under the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW), 2024 was launched in Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) Limited on 16th August, 2024 by Shri S. C. Mudgerikar, CMD, RCF. A number of vigilance awareness activities including training programmes were conducted and systemic improvement measures are also being implemented by RCF. A Vigilance Awareness Gram Sabha was organized at Nigve Dumala Village, located about 25 kms from Kolhapur in the Maharashtra state on 4th October, 2024, as the prescribed outreach activity to disseminate information regarding the menace of corruption and different measures that public can undertake to redress it.
A comprehensive deliberation on the menace of corruption, its ill effects on the developmental projects in the country and society as a whole, set-up created by the Government at the Centre and State level to handle vigilance administration was conducted. The general issues raised by the farmers on corruption, and specifically related to the Fertilizer sector discussed during the Gram Sabha. An Integrity Pledge was administered to the participants. A short Nukkad Natika on the theme ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity’ was played by a team of RCF Thal Unit officials. Cash prizes and Certificates were awarded to students of Shree Jyotirling Vidyamandir, Wadange - Nigve Dumala for participating in the Essay and Poster competitions organized on the subject ‘Corruption-free India, Prosperous India’. A vital message on the necessity to imbibe moral value system, ethical practices and culture of integrity was spread among the students, school teachers, village citizens and the panchayat functionaries.
The special Gram Sabha was presided over by the Village Sarpanch Mrs. Rupali Arjun Patil. CVO, RCF Dr. Rahul S. Jagtap in his address to the Gram Sabha explained the objectives of VAW-2024, the menace of corruption and different measures available to redress it in vernacular language. The queries raised by the participants were effectively addressed by him. Shri Bhagwansingh B. Chauhan, DGM(M), Maharashtra State Marketing Office gave brief introduction about RCF, products of RCF and guided the farmers on use of chemical and organic fertilizers. About 150 persons participated in the Gram Sabha including Shri Parag A. Dandekar, DGM(V) and Senior Officers of Vigilance Department of RCF Trombay and Thal Unit; officials of RCF Marketing Offices at Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli districts; Deputy Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat members; officials of the Gram Sabha, School Principal, Award winning Students; representatives from the Village Jaihind Cooperative Vikas Seva Society and so on. Gram Vikas Adhikari and Incharge Area Marketing Office, Kolhapur conducted the proceedings of the gram Sabha. Gram Panchayat member Mrs. Deepali Chaugule delivered the vote of thanks. A short visit also been made to the school to participate in the tree plantation, to see the posters prepared by students during the competition and to guide the students.
The special Gram Sabha was arranged successfully with the untiring efforts of Shri Yogesh D. Vengurlekar, Incharge of Area Marketing Office, Kolhapur, Chief Managers(V) Shri Sanjay M. Athawale and Shri Atul N. Dudhande and their respective teams and the Gram Vikas Adhikari Shri Sanjay Jivajirao Shinde.
